Invest Qatar wrapped up its showcase at London Tech Week—a leading European technology festival drawing over 45,000 participants—between 9–11 June in Olympia London. The agency leveraged the “Startup Qatar” pavilion to present Qatar’s evolving startup landscape to a global audience of investors, corporates and innovators.

Pavilion Highlights

  • Comprehensive National Showcase
The Startup Qatar space brought together strategic bodies—the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Qatar Development Bank, Qatar Financial Centre, Qatar Investment Authority and the Qatar Research Development and Innovation Council—to map out Qatar’s streamlined business setup, funding programmes and regulatory incentives for early-stage ventures.
  • Digital Platform Launch
Delegates were introduced to the centralised portal (startupqatar.qa), which aggregates support services, grants, incubation schemes and networking events for startups at all growth stages.

Engagement and Activities

Invest Qatar’s team led sector-focused masterclasses and high-level networking sessions aimed at outlining Qatar’s tech-friendly policies and rapid strides in areas such as fintech, AI and clean energy. These interactions connected more than 300 international delegates with key decision-makers from Qatar’s public and private sectors

Measurable Outcomes

Since the pavilion’s launch, the Startup Qatar initiative has:

  • Enabled over 450 new business registrations under the Qatar Financial Centre jurisdiction.
  • Attracted more than 4,000 applications to the QDB-backed Startup Qatar Investment Programme.
  • Disbursed $23.5 million in seed and growth funding to 19 startups spanning sectors from agritech to digital health.

Implications for Qatar

This high-visibility presence at one of Europe’s largest tech gatherings underscores Qatar’s commitment—anchored in its National Vision 2030—to cultivate a diversified, knowledge-based economy capable of sustainable development. By showcasing its one-stop startup gateway and dedicated funding streams, Qatar aims to accelerate inward investment, strengthen its innovation ecosystem and secure long-term growth beyond hydrocarbons.
