- by Falak .
Doha, Qatar – June 2, 2025 – In a significant boost to the regional startup landscape, ShipBee, an AI-powered digital logistics marketplace, has secured QR855,000 in a Pre-Seed funding round. The investment, led by Doha-based GrowthX and supported by two angel investors along with QR150,000 in founder bootstrapping, represents a major milestone for the early-stage startup, now valued at QR3.57 million. The development reinforces the momentum of Qatar’s innovation-driven economy and the strength of local enablers supporting emerging tech ventures.
GrowthX, a business consulting and investment firm established in 2019 (evolving from the Mieraj Group), continues to assert its influence in the region’s startup ecosystem. Led by serial entrepreneur Hamad Al-Hajri—also the founder and CEO of leading Qatari delivery platform Snoonu—the firm is recognized for accelerating ventures that align with Qatar’s digital economy ambitions. Al-Hajri’s dual leadership in both Snoonu and GrowthX signals strategic alignment between logistics innovation and venture capital support in the country.
GrowthX’s involvement in ShipBee's funding round underscores the investor’s commitment to supporting high-impact, technology-driven solutions that can scale regionally and globally. The partnership is expected to catalyze further investor interest in the logistics and AI sectors across MENA.
Founded in March 2024 and officially registered in Qatar Free Zones (QFZ), ShipBee delivers a unified, tech-enabled logistics ecosystem. The company offers a comprehensive suite of services, including:
ShipBee has already formed strategic partnerships with major regional and international players such as Snoonu, Qatar Post, DHL, NEXX (a Chinese AI logistics firm), and a variety of local SMEs. The platform is positioned to simplify logistics operations through real-time visibility, automated workflows, and AI integration.
The startup’s progress is bolstered by incubation and mentorship from both the Qatar Development Bank’s Mobility Incubator (QBIC) and the Digital Incubation Center, which hosted ShipBee in the 8th edition of its Idea Camp. ShipBee was also the winner of the inaugural QDB Innovation Hackathon for Mobility, reflecting strong validation from the Qatari innovation ecosystem.
Dr. Allan Villegas, a board executive at Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), has joined ShipBee’s board of directors, bringing strategic oversight and further connecting the startup to the national R&D and innovation infrastructure.
With fresh capital and a growing list of partnerships, ShipBee plans to expand its team, enhance platform capabilities, and pursue government and enterprise-level contracts. The company aims to become the go-to logistics and delivery platform for businesses and consumers in the GCC and MENA regions, using artificial intelligence to cut delivery times, lower costs, and increase operational efficiency.
ShipBee’s rise from a Qatari incubation program to a regionally ambitious AI logistics platform highlights the strength of local innovation pipelines and the increasing role of homegrown startups in shaping the region’s digital economy.
