Doha, Qatar - As part of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s (MCIT) strategic partnership with the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Authority, the TASMU Accelerator has been officially certified as an approved co-working space by the QFC Authority. This milestone allows participating startups to operate from a recognized facility and to establish a permanent business presence in Qatar.

Strategic Partnership Background

MCIT and the QFC Authority joined forces to bolster Qatar’s innovation ecosystem, aiming to support startup growth and deepen local integration. Launched under the Smart Qatar programme, the TASMU Accelerator serves as MCIT’s flagship vehicle for nurturing global and local technology ventures across key sectors including transportation & logistics, healthcare, environment and smart cities. 

 QFC Certification Details

  • Approved Space Status: The QFC Authority’s certification formally recognizes TASMU Accelerator’s hub as a licensed co-working environment.
  • Regulatory Advantages: Startups operating within this space benefit from streamlined licensing processes under QFC regulations, including zero-percent personal and corporate income tax, and repatriation of capital and profits.
  • Permanent Business Address: Certified startups can secure a QFC commercial registration, granting them a stable legal and operational base in Doha.

Looking Ahead

  • Third Cohort Applications Open (Mar–Jun 2025): Registration for the next TASMU Accelerator cohort is currently underway, with screening scheduled for June 2025.
  • Acceleration Phase (Jul–Dec 2025): Selected startups will embark on a six-month programme of mentorship, workshops, and piloting opportunities, culminating in a Demo Day to showcase solutions to investors and industry leaders.
  • Long-Term Vision: Through this certified hub, MCIT and QFC aim to catalyze digital transformation in Qatar, attract foreign direct investment, and position Doha as a leading smart-city innovation centre.
