Doha, Qatar Qatar Chamber, in collaboration with Al Maraya Exhibition and Conferences Company, Qatar is set to host the first-ever Gulf-Africa Businesswomen's Forum on May 5-6, 2025, at the Marriott Hotel in Doha. This landmark event aims to highlight investment opportunities in the Gulf and African markets. Moreover, it promotes economic partnerships among businesswomen and facilitates the exchange of experiences. It focuses on entrepreneurship and sustainable development trends.

Strategic Collaboration

The agreement to organize the forum was formalized at Qatar Chamber's headquarters. Acting General Manager Ali Bu Sherbak Al-Mansouri and Al Maraya CEO Jaber Al-Mansouri signed on behalf of their respective organizations. Furthermore, this partnership underscores a shared commitment to empowering businesswomen. It aims to expand their presence in regional and international markets.

Forum Objectives

The forum serves as a strategic platform for female entrepreneurs and investors from the Gulf countries and Africa. It fosters economic and investment cooperation between the two regions. Additionally, it offers attendees opportunities to engage in meaningful discussions, explore collaboration prospects, and expand their business networks.

Key Highlights

  • Distinguished Participation: The event is expected to attract over 120 women entrepreneurs from GCC countries and various African nations. Notably, four former African female presidents and two African ministers of economy will participate. Additionally, several female CEOs of major African companies are slated to attend.
  • Panel Discussions: A series of panel discussions will review success stories. They will highlight promising sectors that offer investment opportunities for businesswomen from both the Gulf and Africa.

Statements from Organizers

Ibtihaj Al-Ahmadani, Qatar Chamber board member and President of the Qatari Businesswomen Forum, emphasized that the forum provides a valuable opportunity to tackle key issues and challenges in Gulf-African business cooperation. She highlighted Africa’s appeal as an investment destination across various sectors and noted the increasing interest of Gulf investors in expanding their presence on the continent.  

Ali Bu Sherbak Al-Mansouri reaffirmed Qatar Chamber's commitment to supporting the forum. He stated that bringing together prominent businesswomen from the Gulf and Africa would open new investment opportunities and strengthen economic cooperation between the two regions.  

Jaber Al-Mansouri expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Qatar Chamber to host the forum. He emphasized that the event creates a platform to empower businesswomen and expand their presence in both regional and international markets.  

The Gulf-Africa Businesswomen's Forum aims to strengthen business ties between the two regions, boost economic growth, and empower women entrepreneurs globally. Additionally, the event will set a precedent for future cooperation and establish a foundation for stronger economic and trade relations between the Gulf and African nations.
