Doha, Qatar - Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) has launched 20 new digital services on its website as part of the 2024–2030 transformation strategy to deliver fully online, user-centred government services aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030.

How to Access

All services are available via MOCI’s e-services portal and require login through the National Authentication System (NAS), which standardises secure, single-sign-on access across government platforms.

What’s New?

The release spans core MOCI mandates and day-to-day business workflows, including:

  • Specialised licensing and business filings
  • Market monitoring for goods and services and price evaluation tools for commercial establishments
  • Competition and consumer protection functions, including defective product recalls, online complaint submission and tracking, and visibility into inspection outcomes
  • Customs integration for post-clearance product registration via a direct link with the General Authority of Customs to speed the import-to-market cycle

Why It Matters for Businesses and Startups?

  • Faster setup and scaling: Digital licensing and filings reduce administrative friction for founders, SMEs and investors, shortening time to operate and grow.
  • Regulatory clarity: Built-in price and market monitoring, plus competition oversight, provides more predictable operating conditions for new ventures and expanding firms.
  • Consumer-trust infrastructure: Streamlined recalls and complaint handling strengthen product safety and market integrity, which is key for e-commerce, consumer tech and IoT startups seeking credibility and rapid market feedback.
  • Trade efficiency: Customs system linkage helps import-reliant companies move from clearance to compliant registration with fewer touchpoints, useful for hardware, retail and F&B entrants.

Alignment with National Strategy

The rollout operationalises pillars in MOCI’s 2024–2030 Strategy and complements MCIT’s National Digital Authentication and Trust Services Strategy (2024–2026) by expanding secure, end-to-end digital journeys for citizens and businesses. This supports the Vision-2030 goal of a diversified, knowledge-based economy through efficient, transparent public services.

Expected Impact

According to ministry materials and local coverage, the upgrade is intended to reduce processing times, simplify procedures, and raise service quality, improving the ease of doing business and Qatar’s regional competitiveness. Early emphasis on licensing, market oversight, and consumer protection indicates a shift from digitising forms to digitising entire regulatory workflows.

Where to Start

Businesses and individuals can browse the full catalogue under MOCI → e-Services, including recall notices, complaint portals, and post-inspection actions, then authenticate with NAS to complete transactions online.
