- by Falak .
Doha, Qatar - The GSMA and Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) have confirmed details for MWC25 Doha, the first-ever Mobile World Congress to be held in the Middle East. The two-day event will take place on November 25–26, 2025, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). It is positioned as a landmark in Qatar’s digital transformation journey under its Digital Agenda 2030.
MWC25 Doha will occupy three halls at DECC and focus on three thematic areas:
Alongside the main congress, the event will also introduce to the region several programs that have become highlights of MWC worldwide. These include 4YFN (Four Years From Now), the GSMA Ministerial Programme, the GSMA Digital Leaders Programme, and Smart City Expo Doha, a regional edition of the global Smart City Expo series organized by Fira de Barcelona.
Organizers expect participation from over 200 speakers, around 150 exhibitors representing more than 60 countries (with 80 percent international representation), and hundreds of experts and delegates from the digital and technology industries. Confirmed exhibitors include Cisco, Dell, Google Cloud, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Huawei, Mannai, Microsoft, Nokia, Ooredoo, PwC, Qatar University, VEON, Vodafone, ZTE, and Meeza, a Qatari data center and AI services provider.
At the pre-event briefing, five Memoranda of Understanding were signed with the Communications Regulatory Authority, Qatar University, Media City Qatar, Ooredoo, and Vodafone in support of MWC25 Doha.
As the first MWC in the MENA region, the Doha edition demonstrates Qatar’s ambition to be a hub for technology, policy, and innovation. The congress is directly aligned with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and Digital Agenda 2030, underscoring the nation’s plans to advance digital transformation and strengthen its role in shaping regional and global ICT discussions.
The event is expected to bring economic value through business tourism, partnerships, and increased global visibility. Similar to other MWC editions, the Doha congress will have spillover effects on sectors such as hospitality, logistics, and professional services, while positioning Qatar as a magnet for technology investment and cross-border collaboration.
MWC25 Doha will serve as a catalyst for the local startup ecosystem. The 4YFN programme, debuting in the region, will provide entrepreneurs with access to investors, accelerators, and policymakers. It will also give startups an international platform to pitch ideas, secure partnerships, and explore opportunities for expansion.
With institutional backing from organizations such as Qatar University and Media City Qatar, Qatari startups will benefit from exposure to global markets, innovation networks, and the chance to build credibility in front of international stakeholders. This visibility is expected to support fundraising, scaling, and cross-border collaborations, helping position Qatar as a regional hub for technology-driven entrepreneurship.
