Doha, Qatar – The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has published the 2024 Annual Achievements Report for the TASMU Accelerator, underscoring the program’s pivotal role in driving digital transformation and innovation in Qatar. The findings align with the nation’s Digital Agenda 2030, highlighting the Accelerator’s contribution to startup growth, international collaboration, and economic diversification.

Global Reach and Startup Growth

In its first two cohorts, the TASMU Accelerator attracted over 1,185 applications from 78 countries, reinforcing Qatar’s position as an attractive destination for startups seeking expansion in the region. Participating companies have demonstrated strong momentum, collectively achieving a valuation of QAR 2.92 billion, generating QAR 479 million in sales, and securing QAR 228 million in funding.

Expanding Market Opportunities

The program’s impact extends beyond financial metrics. Startups within the Accelerator launched pilot projects with more than 60 organizations, unlocking QAR 137 million in new business opportunities. They also earned 11 awards—nine international and two local—reflecting recognition of their innovation on both global and domestic stages.

Through facilitated integration into the Qatari market, participating startups engaged in over 80 meetings with institutions such as Qatar Airways, Ooredoo, and Sidra Medicine, building partnerships that support long-term growth.

Building Talent and Ecosystem Connections

The Accelerator has also made strides in nurturing local talent and strengthening Qatar’s innovation ecosystem. It created training opportunities for 370 university students and partnered with 49 Qatari organizations to embed startups into national value chains.

Mentorship and capacity building remain core strengths of the program. More than 2,000 hours of mentorship and 270 hours of specialized workshops delivered by global experts have provided participants with expertise in investment readiness, market entry strategies, and scaling operations.

Focus on High-Impact Sectors

TASMU Accelerator continues to position itself as a gateway for global startups entering the MENA region. Its focus spans strategic industries including healthcare, logistics, environment, and tourism, sectors identified as key to Qatar’s long-term economic vision.

A Platform for National and Global Impact

The 2024 report confirms TASMU Accelerator’s status as both a launchpad for innovative startups and a strategic catalyst for advancing Qatar’s ambition to become a global hub for digital innovation. By combining international outreach with local integration, the program is contributing to the growth of a resilient and competitive digital economy.
