Doha, Qatar - The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has joined the Qatar Investment and Innovation Conference as a strategic partner. Organised by The Business Year and Msheireb Properties, the event will take place on November 3 at Barahat Msheireb in Doha.

Focus and Themes

This year’s edition runs under the theme “Driving GCC Entrepreneurial Growth”. It will bring together policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs, and innovators to discuss opportunities in entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and innovation across the Gulf region.

National Priorities

MCIT’s involvement highlights Qatar’s efforts to advance digital transformation and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in line with the Third National Development Strategy, Qatar National Vision 2030, and Digital Agenda 2030. The ministry’s role will ensure that discussions align with national priorities and contribute to shaping a knowledge-based economy.

Programme Highlights

The conference agenda includes panel discussions with government leaders, investors, and industry experts on scaling startups, the investment landscape, and public-private collaboration. A new feature this year is the AI for Good Innovation Challenge, held in partnership with the YAILs initiative and its Doha chapter, which will showcase AI-driven solutions addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Impact on Startups

  • Increased visibility: The event provides startups an opportunity to present ideas to influential regional stakeholders.

  • Access to networks: The presence of policymakers, investors, and industry experts can lead to new partnerships, funding, and support channels.

  • Support for innovative and tech-driven projects: The inclusion of the AI challenge and focus on emerging technologies could bring attention and resources to tech-oriented ventures.

  • Reinforcement of public-private collaboration: Stronger coordination between government bodies like MCIT and private entities may result in more favorable policies, programs, and infrastructure for entrepreneurs.
