How the TASMU Accelerator is Powering Qatar’s Startup Landscape
- by Falak .
Qatar’s startup ecosystem is witnessing a new wave of growth, and the TASMU Accelerator, an initiative by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is playing a central role in driving this momentum.
The recently released TASMU Accelerator Achievements Report offers an in-depth look at the impact of the program’s first two cohorts, showcasing how structured support, mentorship, and market access can translate into tangible success for startups.
Since its establishment in 2022, the TASMU Accelerator has welcomed 50 startups across two cohorts, focusing on key sectors such as healthcare, environment, logistics, and tourism. These areas were chosen for their relevance to Qatar’s economic priorities and their potential for digital transformation.
The response has been truly global, with over 1,185 applications from 78 countries, reflecting the growing interest in Qatar as a destination for technology-driven ventures.
The outcomes of the program highlight the significant progress achieved in a short period:
1,185+ applications received from 78 countries
50 startups accelerated in two cohorts
QAR 2.92B total portfolio valuation
QAR 228M raised in funding
QAR 479M in sales generated
2,000+ mentorship hours provided
49 Qatari partnerships established across healthcare, logistics, environment, and tourism
Collaboration with leading organizations including Microsoft, Ooredoo, Qatar Airways, and Sidra Medicine
While the figures are impressive, the real achievement lies in how the TASMU Accelerator has integrated startups into Qatar’s ecosystem. Over 80 meetings with key stakeholders and an exclusive Investors Demo Day have helped startups secure vital partnerships and attract the attention of regional and international investors.
The program’s emphasis on mentorship and training has also equipped founders with the knowledge and skills to refine their business models, scale effectively, and pursue long-term growth strategies.
Startups from the second cohort alone achieved QAR 114M in sales and reached a collective valuation of QAR 1.1B. Their solutions span a wide spectrum — from AI-powered healthcare tools and sustainable waste recovery systems to next-generation satellite imagery and clean energy platforms.
These innovations are not only shaping their respective industries but also strengthening Qatar’s position as a growing hub for digital solutions in the region.
The TASMU Accelerator continues to demonstrate how targeted support programs can deliver measurable results. As more startups join future cohorts, the foundation being built today promises to accelerate digital transformation, diversify Qatar’s economy, and open the door to global collaboration.
