Doha, Qatar – The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Google Cloud, and Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ) have officially lunched the Google Cloud Center of Excellence (CoE) at the Business Innovation Park in Ras Bufontas Free Zone. This landmark initiative reinforces Qatar's position as a regional leader in digital innovation and cloud technology.
The CoE is the result of a longstanding partnership between MCIT, Google Cloud, and QFZ, aimed at advancing cloud adoption, digital innovation, and skill development in Qatar. Building on the launch of the Doha Google Cloud Region last year, the CoE is set to amplify the country's digital transformation efforts by equipping industries with state-of-the-art cloud capabilities.
The Center will focus on providing advanced training, supporting startups, and enabling groundbreaking research in cloud-based technologies. It underscores Qatar’s commitment to leveraging technology to enhance its economic growth and digital landscape.
The Center of Excellence plays a critical role in localizing technology and developing human capital. It offers a platform for individuals and businesses to access advanced cloud training, explore innovative solutions, and connect with experts to address unique challenges. By nurturing digital expertise, the CoE aims to empower organizations to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.
The establishment of the Google Cloud Center of Excellence aligns with Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and Digital Agenda 2030, both of which emphasize sustainable development and technological leadership. The CoE is designed to enable the upskilling of the workforce and support the growth of startups, contributing to Qatar’s transformation into a hub for digital innovation in the MENA region.
The CoE is expected to attract global technology leaders to Qatar while also providing a launchpad for local startups. By offering cutting-edge training programs, personalized guidance, and opportunities for collaboration, the Center seeks to create a dynamic ecosystem of innovation that supports Qatar’s broader goals of economic diversification.
The new facility will host a variety of training programs, events, and initiatives to help organizations and individuals harness the potential of cloud technologies. Businesses can explore tailored solutions and benefit from the CoE’s expertise to drive their digital transformation strategies.

The opening of the Google Cloud Center of Excellence signifies a major achievement in Qatar’s journey toward becoming a global technology destination. Through this collaborative initiative, the country is positioned to set new benchmarks for digital innovation and cloud adoption in the region.
