Al Fikra 2024 Returns: Igniting Innovation in Higher Education

Doha, Qatar - The Center for Entrepreneurship & Organizational Excellence (CEOE) at Qatar University's College of Business & Economics, in collaboration with Qatar Development Bank (QDB), is pleased to announce the launch of the Al Fikra National Entrepreneurship Competition for 2024. This esteemed competition invites undergraduates, graduate students, researchers, staff, and faculty members from all colleges, universities, and higher education institutes across Qatar to participate.
- Junior Idea Track: Led by undergraduate students.
- Senior Idea Track: Led by faculty, researchers, graduate students, or staff.
- 1st Place: 20,000 QAR
- 2nd Place: 15,000 QAR
- 3rd Place: 10,000 QAR
- Open to all undergraduates, graduate students, researchers, staff, and faculty members from any university or higher education institution in Qatar.
- Teams should consist of 2-5 members, with the lead member affiliated with a university in Qatar.
- Early-stage ideas are encouraged; incubated teams or registered startups are not eligible.
Interested participants are invited to register online through the official competition page. The deadline for applications is 21st December 2024 at 6:00 pm.
Established in 2013, Al Fikra is a national entrepreneurship competition designed to promote and develop entrepreneurial skills within Qatar's higher education community. The competition provides specialized training, equipping participants with practical knowledge and support to advance their innovative ideas into impactful businesses. Over the years, Al Fikra has attracted significant interest from entrepreneurs, sponsors, and the business community, making it one of the most anticipated entrepreneurship competitions in Qatar.
In its previous edition, Al Fikra received over 200 team applications, comprising more than 580 team members from over 15 higher education institutes across Qatar. The competition serves as a vital platform to support and develop individuals' entrepreneurial skills, contributing to enhancing the entrepreneurial culture within the university campus and the broader community.
