Qatar Launches Talent Community Program
- by Mohammed Sofan
Doha, Qatar — The Qatar Development Bank (QDB), together with strategic partners Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI), and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), has introduced an ambitious new initiative: the Talent Community Program. Designed to supercharge Qatar’s startup landscape, the program offers temporary residency to exceptional entrepreneurs and skilled professionals, making it easier for innovative minds to establish and grow their operations within Qatar’s thriving business ecosystem.
The Talent Community Program is designed to help startups and SMEs thrive in Qatar’s rapidly developing business landscape. By offering startups access to resources, an innovative environment, and opportunities for collaboration, the program aims to attract top talent from across the globe, helping these businesses make an impact in Qatar’s technology and innovation sectors.
“The Talent Community Program is an opportunity for startups to connect with key players in Qatar's entrepreneurial ecosystem,” said a QDB spokesperson. “Our goal is to create an environment that facilitates innovation, collaboration, and growth, supporting these businesses as they expand in the Qatari market.”
The program's main goals are to:
- Attract Global Talent: Enable startups to bring in skilled professionals across technology, AI, product development, and more.
- Build Strategic Partnerships: Encourage collaboration between startups and QDB's partners, including QSTP, QRDI, and MCIT.
- Foster a Knowledge-Exchange Ecosystem: Create a space where innovation, knowledge sharing, and cutting-edge ideas can flourish to support business expansion.
- Provide Essential Resources: Ensure startups have access to a robust network of experts, resources, and strategic advice crucial for growth.
Startups within QDB’s portfolio and those supported by QSTP, QRDI, and MCIT are eligible to apply. Ideal applicants are companies in tech-driven and innovative sectors, including artificial intelligence, research and development, and product innovation. Eligible companies must have a primary base or main operational footprint in Qatar.
Successful applicants will receive free residency units, providing cost-effective living arrangements to facilitate a smooth relocation. However, applicants will cover their logistics and travel expenses. Residency is granted for an initial period to support the startup’s journey in Qatar, and participants will share feedback through an end-of-program questionnaire to help enhance future support.
Interested startups can apply by completing an application form available on the program’s official page. The application process, which includes a 30-day review period, assesses factors such as the company’s technology focus, market potential, alignment with Qatar’s economic goals, and team structure.
With this initiative, Qatar reaffirms its commitment to nurturing the innovation ecosystem and empowering startups to achieve success. The Talent Community Program not only opens doors to the country’s resources but also provides a supportive base where startups can unlock their full potential in the Qatari market.
