- بواسطة Falak .
Doha, Qatar – The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has unveiled two experimental initiatives—the AI Sandbox and XR Sandbox—within the TASMU Innovation Lab at Web Summit Qatar 2025. These initiatives are designed to enhance Qatar’s digital entrepreneurship ecosystem by providing a controlled environment for startups, researchers, and developers to explore emerging technologies in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Extended Reality (XR).
Developed in collaboration with the Deloitte AI Institute and powered by Google’s Vertex AI platform, the AI Sandbox offers a flexible and secure space for businesses and innovators to develop AI-driven solutions. This environment allows users to test new AI applications without affecting live operational systems, reducing risk and enabling seamless experimentation.
The AI Sandbox features low-code and no-code development capabilities, making it accessible to individuals with varying levels of technical expertise. Additionally, participants benefit from structured mentoring sessions led by AI solution architects and data scientists, ensuring they receive expert guidance in refining their innovations.
Alongside AI development, MCIT has introduced the XR Sandbox in collaboration with Deloitte Digital. This initiative serves as an incubator for Extended Reality (XR) technologies, encompassing Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR). By offering a structured platform for experimentation, the XR Sandbox supports the development of immersive digital experiences that can be applied across various industries, from education and healthcare to entertainment and business operations.
MCIT’s Digital Innovation team highlights the AI and XR Sandboxes as critical enablers of digital transformation. These platforms create a collaborative space where government entities, developers, businesses, and AI engineers can test and refine advanced technological solutions. The initiatives align with Qatar’s Digital Agenda 2030, aiming to integrate cutting-edge technologies to improve quality of life and deliver efficient digital experiences tailored to community needs.
By investing in these advanced experimental environments, Qatar continues to strengthen its position as a regional leader in digital transformation and technological innovation. The AI and XR Sandboxes are expected to drive economic growth by enabling the development of next-generation digital solutions that address real-world challenges and enhance digital interactions on a global scale.
